Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK COMBINATION METER ASSY 
    1. Check voltage.
      1. Remove the combination meter assy with connector still connected.
      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
      3. Measure voltage between terminal C8-18 of combination meter assy connector and body ground.

        Standard voltage: 

        COMBINATION METER ASSY CONNECTOR TERMINAL STANDARD VOLTAGE

        Condition Voltage (V)
        MODE switch is pressed 0
        MODE switch is not pressed 5
        RESET switch is pressed 2.5
        RESET switch is not pressed 5

    1. OK: CHECK AND REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY 
    2. NG: Go to next step. 
  2. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH 
    1. Remove the steering pad switch.
    2. Check resistance between terminals +DP and -DP of steering pad switch connector.

      Resistance: 

      STEERING PAD SWITCH CONNECTOR TERMINALS RESISTANCE

      Switch condition Resistance (Ω)
      MODE switch is pressed Below 1
      MODE switch is not pressed OPEN
      RESET switch is pressed 2.2
      RESET switch is not pressed OPEN

    1. NG: REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH 
    2. OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
