Inspect Cooling Fan Motors

  1. Stop engine and disconnect No. 1 cooling fan 2-pin connector. Check the cooling fan operation. Check that the fan operates when applying battery positive and battery negative. See Figure. Measure the amperage. If readings are not as specified, replace cooling fan. See COOLING FAN CURRENT DRAW SPECIFICATIONS  table. Reconnect No. 1 cooling fan connector.
  2. Disconnect No. 2 cooling fan connector. Check that the fan operates when applying battery positive and battery negative See Figure. Measure the amperage. If readings are not as specified, replace cooling fan. See RADIATOR COOLING FAN CURRENT DRAW SPECIFICATIONS  table. Reconnect No. 2 cooling fan connector.
