Perform troubleshooting of DTC B2508 first.

  1. READ VALUE OF LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER (LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE MOTOR PULSE)
    1. Read the LUGGAGE PULSE/L signal on the LEXUS hand-held tester.

      OK:

      12288 - 20480

    1. OK: CHECK AND REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
    2. NG: GO TO NEXT STEP.
  2. CHECK ECU TERMINAL VOLTAGE
    1. Remove the luggage compartment trim cover inner lower, see OVERHAUL .
    2. Measure voltage between terminals RPLB and RPLE of sliding roof control ECU, see TERMINALS OF ECU .

      OK:

      Voltage: 7 - 9 V

    1. NG: CHECK AND REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LPL, LPLB AND LPLE OF SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH)
    1. NG: CHECK AND REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.
  4. INSPECT LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH (PULSE CIRCUIT OPERATION)
    1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the TOYOTA electrical tester to terminal 5 and negative (-) lead to terminal 4.
    2. Connect 5 dry batteries of 1.5 V in series.
