Inspection Procedure
HINT:
If DTC B2508 and B2538 are output simultaneously, luggage door drive motor LH circuit may be open.
Perform troubleshooting of DTC B2508 first.
- READ VALUE OF LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER (LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE MOTOR PULSE)
- Read the LUGGAGE PULSE/L signal on the LEXUS hand-held tester.
OK:
12288 - 20480
- OK: CHECK AND REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
- NG: GO TO NEXT STEP.
- Read the LUGGAGE PULSE/L signal on the LEXUS hand-held tester.
- CHECK ECU TERMINAL VOLTAGE
- Remove the luggage compartment trim cover inner lower, see OVERHAUL .
- Measure voltage between terminals RPLB and RPLE of sliding roof control ECU, see TERMINALS OF ECU .
OK:
Voltage: 7 - 9 V
- NG: CHECK AND REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LPL, LPLB AND LPLE OF SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH)
- NG: CHECK AND REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.
- INSPECT LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH (PULSE CIRCUIT OPERATION)
- Connect the positive (+) lead from the TOYOTA electrical tester to terminal 5 and negative (-) lead to terminal 4.
- Connect 5 dry batteries of 1.5 V in series.
- Connect terminal 6 to the dry batteries' positive (+) terminal, and terminal 4 to the dry batteries' negative (-) terminal.
- Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1, and negative (-) lead to terminal 3.
- Check that the output voltage of terminal 4 and 5.
OK:
Pulse is generated during motor running
- Reverse the polarity terminal 1 and 3.
- Check that the output voltage of terminal 4 and 5.
OK:
Pulse is generated during motor running
- NG: REPLACE LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH
- OK: CHECK AND REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
