Inspection Procedure
- DO ACTIVE TEST OF OBD II SCAN TOOL OR LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER
- Check driver's seat belt warning operation.
- Connect the OBD II scan tool or LEXUS hand-held tester to DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch ON and push the OBD II scan tool or LEXUS hand-held tester main switch ON.
- Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on the OBD II scan tool or LEXUS hand-held tester.
- Check that the driver's seat belt warning operation.
- NG: CHECK AND REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- Check driver's seat belt warning operation.
- READ VALUE OF OBD U SCAN TOOL OR LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER
- Check output valve of driver's side buckle switch.
- Connect the OBD II scan tool or LEXUS hand-held tester to DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch ON and push the OBD II scan tool or LEXUS hand-held tester main switch ON.
- Select the DATA LIST mode on the OBD II scan tool or LEXUS hand-held tester.
- Check that the driver's side buckle switch using DATA LIST.
- OK: GO TO STEP 5
- NG: GO TO NEXT STEP
- Check output valve of driver's side buckle switch.
- INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH
- Check continuity.
- Disconnect the connector of front seat belt inner belt LH.
- Check continuity between terminal 2 and 4 when buckle switch condition as shown in the chart below.

- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- Check continuity.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
- OK: CHECK AND REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU
- CHECK THAT MALFUNCTION DISAPPEAR A KNOWN GOOD COMBINATION METER IS INSTALLED
- Check that malfunction disappear when a known good combination meter is installed.
