Inspection Procedure

DO ACTIVE TEST OF OBD II SCAN TOOL OR LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER
1. Check ODO/TRIP meter operation.
  1. Connect the OBD II scan tool or LEXUS hand-held tester to DLC3.
  2. Turn the ignition switch ON and push the OBD II scan tool or LEXUS hand-held tester main switch ON.
  3. Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on the OBD II scan tool or LEXUS hand-held tester.
  4. Check that all segments of ODO/TRIP meter directs in the combination meter by OBD II scan tool or LEXUS hand-held tester.
  OK: All segments direct normally.
1. NG: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY
2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.

CHECK TRIP SWITCH

Operate each switch and check continuity between the individual terminals of the connector as shown in the chart below.

NG: REPLACE TRIP SWITCH
OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR(BETWEEN ODO/TRIP SWITCH AND COMBINATION METER)
1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
2. OK: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY
