Removal (GS 300, GS 430, IS 300 & SC 430)

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove rear wheel and temporarily fasten disc with 3 hub nuts.
  2. Check brake pad thickness through caliper inspection hole and replace pads if thickness is not within specification. See DISC BRAKE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Raise "B" portion by hand. Push up "A" portion and disengage anti-squeal spring from brake caliper. See Fig 1.
  4. Remove anti-squeal springs from brake caliper. Do not deform clip and ant-squeal springs. The clip and anti-squeal springs can be used again provided that they have sufficient rebound, no-deformation, cracks or wear, and have had all rust, dirt and foreign particles cleaned off.
  5. Remove clip and pad guide pin.
  6. Remove brake pads and anti-squeal shims from each pad. For SC 430 see Figure. For GS 300, GS 430 and IS 300 see Fig 2.
