Removal & Installation (ES 300)

  1. Remove caliper. See REAR BRAKE CALIPER .
  2. Remove brake pads with anti-squeal shims. See Fig 1.
  3. Remove anti-squeal shims from brake pads. Using a screwdriver, remove wear indicator from brake pads.
  4. Remove flexhose bracket from shock absorber.
  5. To install, reverse removal procedure. When replacing worn pads, anti-squeal shims must be replaced also. Apply pad grease to both sides of anti-squeal shim No. 1 and install with anti-squeal shim No. 2 to each pad.
  6. Install wear indicators to brake pads.
  7. Install brake pad with wear indicator facing downward.
  8. Install rear brake caliper. See REAR BRAKE CALIPER .
