Installation (GS 300, GS 430, IS 300 & SC 430)
- Apply disc brake grease to both sides of inner anti-squeal shim. Install anti-squeal shims onto each pad. Install pad support plates onto brake pads with pad wear indicators facing in direction of disc rotation.
- Remove a small amount of brake fluid from reservoir. Compress piston into caliper bore with an appropriate piston compressor. If piston is difficult to push in, loosen bleeder screw and push in piston while letting some brake fluid escape.
- Install brake pads.
- Install pad guide pin and clip.
- Install anti-squeal spring. Ensure that claw of anti-squeal spring is raised up on caliper securely. Ensure that there is no gap between pad guide pin and anti-squeal spring. Ensure that "A" and "B" portions of anti-squeal spring are attached to pad. See Figure.
- Install rear wheel and tighten lug nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- On SC 430, install the ornament with the 10 bolts and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Check brake reservoir fluid level and ensure correct brake operation.
