Removal & Installation (SC 430)

Raise and support vehicle. Remove rear wheels.
Remove rear disc brake pads. See REAR BRAKE PADS .
Remove union bolt and gasket from disc brake caliper. Disconnect flexible hose from disc brake caliper. Use a container to catch brake fluid as it drains out. Remove bolts and disc brake caliper. See Fig 1.
To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten rear disc brake caliper bolts and union bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
Press in pistons with an appropriate caliper piston compressor. If piston is difficult to push in, loosen bleeder screw and push in piston while letting some brake fluid escape.
Install pads. Install pad guide pin and clip.
Install a new No. 2 anti-squeal spring. Ensure that claw of anti-squeal spring is raised up on caliper securely. Ensure that there is no gap between pad guide pin and anti-squeal spring. Ensure that "A" and "B" portions of anti-squeal spring are attached to pad. See Fig 2.
Fill reservoir with brake fluid and bleed master cylinder and brake lines. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
Check brake fluid level in reservoir and check for brake fluid leakage.
Install rear wheel. Tighten wheel lug nuts and ornament to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
