Removal & Installation (RX 300)

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove rear wheels.
  2. Remove union bolt and gasket from caliper. Disconnect flexible hose from caliper. Use a container to catch brake fluid as it drains out.
  3. Remove installation bolt and remove caliper from torque plate. See Fig 1.
  4. Remove brake pads with anti-squeal shims and pad support plates.
  5. Remove main pin.
  6. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten main pin, installation bolt and flexible hose to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. Fill brake reservoir with brake fluid and bleed brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
  8. Check system for leaks.
