Removal & Installation (LX 470)

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove rear wheels. Remove union bolt and gasket. Disconnect flexhose from caliper. Use a container to catch brake fluid as it drains out.
  2. Hold sliding pin and loosen installation bolts. See Fig 1.
  3. Remove installation bolts and remove caliper from torque plate.
  4. Remove brake pads with anti-squeal shims and remove pad support plates.
  5. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Using NEW gaskets, install flexible hose lock securely in lock hole in caliper.
  7. Fill brake reservoir with brake fluid and bleed brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
  8. Check system for leaks.
