Removal & Installation (ES 300)

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove rear wheels. Remove union bolt and gasket. Disconnect flexhose from caliper. Use a container to catch brake fluid as it drains out.
  2. Remove lower rear disc brake caliper slide pin. See Fig 1.
  3. Lift up disc brake caliper and remove disc brake caliper assembly.
  4. Remove caliper slide bush from disc brake caliper.
  5. Remove bush dust boot from caliper slide pin.
  6. Using a hexagon wrench, remove upper caliper slide pin.
  7. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten upper caliper slide pin to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  8. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to seal surface of new bush dust boot. Install bush dust boot to upper caliper slide pin.
  9. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to new cylinder slide bush and install to disc brake caliper.
  10. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to upper caliper slide pin and install disc brake caliper to caliper slide pin.
  11. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to lower caliper slide pin and install caliper slide pin to disc brake caliper. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  12. Connect NEW gasket and flexible hose with union bolt and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  13. Fill reservoir with brake fluid. Bleed master cylinder and brake lines. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
  14. Check fluid level in reservoir and check system for brake fluid leaks.
  15. Install rear wheel and tighten lug nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
