Removal (Except LS 430)
- Remove rear wheels. Remove mounting bolts and remove disc brake caliper assembly. Support disc brake assembly so that flexhose is not stretched. It is not necessary to disconnect flexhose.
- Release parking brake. Place match marks on disc and hub for installation reference. Remove disc. If disc cannot be removed easily, turn parking brake shoe adjuster until wheel turns freely. See Figure.
- Remove parking brake shoe return springs with needle nose pliers. See Fig 1.
- Slide out front shoe strut and remove shoe strut with spring.
- Slide out front shoe and remove shoe adjuster. Disconnect tension spring and remove front shoe. Remove caps, shoe hold down spring and pin.
- Slide out rear shoe. Remove tension spring from rear shoe. Disconnect parking brake cable from parking brake shoe lever.
- Remove caps, shoe hold down spring and pin.
