Removal & Installation (SC 430)

  1. Remove front brake caliper. See FRONT BRAKE CALIPER .
  2. Remove anti-squeal springs.
  3. Remove brake pads with anti-squeal shims.
  4. Remove anti-squeal shim and inner anti-squeal shim from each pad.
  5. Measure pad lining thickness. If they do not meet specification, they must be replaced. See DISC BRAKE SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. To install, reverse removal procedure. If replacing worn pads, the ant-squeal shims must be replaced. Apply disc brake grease to both sides of each inner anti-squeal shim.
  7. Install anti-squeal shims to each pad.
  8. Install inner pad with wear indicator plate facing upward, and install outer pad.
  9. Install front brake caliper. See FRONT BRAKE CALIPER .
