Removal & Installation (ES 300)

  1. Remove disc brake caliper assembly. See FRONT BRAKE CALIPER .
  2. Remove brake pads with anti-squeal shims.
  3. Remove anti-squeal shims from brake pads.
  4. Using a screwdriver, remove wear indicator from brake pads.
  5. Measure pad lining thickness. See DISC BRAKE SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. To install, reverse removal procedure. On single piston type, apply pad grease to both sides of anti-squeal shim No. 1 and install shim together with anti-squeal shim No. 2 to each pad. On twin piston type, apply pad grease to anti-squeal shim and install shim to each pad.
  7. On both types, install wear indicator to brake pads.
  8. Install brake pad with wear indicator facing upward.
  9. Install disc brake caliper assembly. See FRONT BRAKE CALIPER .
