Installation (LX 470)
- Draw out a small amount of brake fluid from reservoir. Press in piston with an appropriate caliper piston compressor. Always change pads on one wheel at a time as there is a possibility of opposite piston fling out. If piston is difficult to push in, loosen bleeder screw and push in piston while letting some brake fluid escape.
- Install 2 pad retainers to each caliper piston.
- Install anti-squeal shim to each pad. Apply disc brake grease to both sides of anti-squeal shims.
- Install brake pads. Apply disc brake grease to pads on surface facing shims.
- Install pad retainer clips and pins. Install clip.
- If bleeder screws were loosened, bleed system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
- Install front wheel and tighten lug nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Check that fluid level is at MAX line.
NOTE:
There should be no oil or grease adhering to friction surfaces of pads or disc.
