Disassembly & Assembly (RX 300)

  1. Remove rear caliper. See REAR BRAKE CALIPER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Remove sliding bushing, dust boots and main pin boot.
  3. Using a screwdriver, remove boot ring and piston boot.
  4. Put a piece of cloth between piston and caliper.
    WARNING: Do not place your fingers in front of piston when using compressed air.
  5. Use compressed air to remove piston from cylinder.
  6. Using a screwdriver, remove piston seal.
  7. Remove sliding pins from torque plate. Remove sliding bushing from upper side of sliding pin. Using a screwdriver and hammer, tap out dust boots.
  8. To assemble, reverse disassembly procedure. Ensure that boots are secured firmly to bushing and caliper grooves.
