Disassembly & Assembly (LX 470)

  1. Remove rear caliper. See REAR BRAKE CALIPER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Using a screwdriver, remove cylinder boot from caliper.
  3. WARNING: Do not place your fingers in front of piston when using compressed air.
  4. Place a piece of cloth or a similar object between piston and caliper. Use compressed air to remove piston from cylinder.
  5. Using a screwdriver, remove piston seals from caliper.
  6. Using a screwdriver with a taped tip and hammer, tap out pin boot and sliding bushing.
  7. To assemble, reverse disassembly procedure. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to sliding pins, boots and piston seals.
  8. Install rear caliper. See REAR BRAKE CALIPER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
