Disassembly & Assembly (LX 470)
- Remove rear caliper. See REAR BRAKE CALIPER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Using a screwdriver, remove cylinder boot from caliper.
- Place a piece of cloth or a similar object between piston and caliper. Use compressed air to remove piston from cylinder.
- Using a screwdriver, remove piston seals from caliper.
- Using a screwdriver with a taped tip and hammer, tap out pin boot and sliding bushing.
- To assemble, reverse disassembly procedure. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to sliding pins, boots and piston seals.
- Install rear caliper. See REAR BRAKE CALIPER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
WARNING:
Do not place your fingers in front of piston when using compressed air.
