Disassembly (GS 300, GS 430 & IS 300)

  1. Remove brake caliper from vehicle. See FRONT BRAKE CALIPER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using a screwdriver, remove set rings and caliper boots from caliper piston.
    WARNING: Do not place your fingers in front of the piston when using compressed air.
  2. Put a piece of cloth or equivalent between piston and caliper. Use compressed air to push pistons from caliper bore into cloth.
  3. Using a screwdriver, Remove piston seals from caliper. Remove sliding pins from torque plate.
  4. Using a screwdriver and hammer, tap out dust boots.
