RX 300

  1. With a force of 66 lbs. (30 kg), depress parking brake while counting clicks. If 5-7 clicks are not counted, parking brake requires adjustment.
  2. Ensure rear brake shoe clearance has been adjusted. See PARKING BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE .
  3. Ensure parking pedal is released. Hold turnbuckle and loosen lock nut "A" on brake cable. See Fig 1. To adjust parking brake pedal travel, rotate turnbuckle until 5-7 clicks can be counted on parking brake pedal. Hold turn buckle and tighten lock nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. If adjustment cannot be done by loosening nut "A", adjust the travel by loosening nut "B". See Fig 1.
  5. Check whether parking brake drags or not and that parking brake indicator light illuminates.
