Coat new seal lip with grease and, using Seal Driver Kit (09316-60011), install oil seal until seal outer lip is flush with surface of differential. Using a press and driver kit, install companion flange. Install NEW companion flange nut and gradually tighten nut until correct pinion bearing preload is obtained. See PINION BEARING PRELOAD table.
NOTE:
For vehicles with less than 5000 miles, if pinion bearing preload measured before disassembly was more than used bearing specification, return pinion bearing preload to preload measured before disassembly.
