Fuel Gauge & Circuit
Disconnect fuel gauge sending unit harness connector. Turn ignition on and observe gauge needle. Gauge needle should move to EMPTY position. Connect sending unit harness connector terminals No. 1 and 3 through a 3.4-watt test bulb, and observe bulb and gauge needle. See Fig 1. Test bulb should illuminate and gauge needle should move to FULL position. If gauge functions as specified, check sending unit. If gauge does not function as specified, check fuel gauge resistance.
