Removal & Installation (SC300)

  1. Using paint, make match marks on center flanges. Remove 4 nuts, bolts and washers, and separate intermediate and drive shafts. Unstake center support bearing nut on intermediate shaft, and remove nut and 2 washers. Paint match marks on flange and intermediate shaft. Remove center support bearing. See Figure.
  2. Install center support bearing. Apply lithium base grease to intermediate shaft spline. Align match marks, and install flange, 2 washers and nut. Using a Companion Flange Holder (09330-00021), hold flange, and tighten nut to 134 ft. lbs. (182 N.m) to seat bearing. Loosen nut and retighten to 51 ft. lbs. (69 N.m). Stake nut to shaft.
NOTE: If replacing center flange or intermediate shaft, ensure intermediate shaft and rear drive shaft yokes are facing in the same direction.
