Test No. 6: Character Plate Remains Illuminated With Starter Operating

Disconnect instrument cluster harness connector "D". Measure voltage between ground and harness connector "D", terminal No. 12 (Green/Red wire) while turning ignition switch to START position. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If battery voltage is present, replace circuit plate. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in Green/Red wire in starter relay circuit.
