Test No. 19: Cruise Main Indicator Abnormal Operation Or Does Not Illuminate

  1. Disconnect instrument cluster harness connector "C". Turn ignition on. Ground instrument cluster cavity "C", terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Red wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If light illuminates, go to next step. If light does not illuminate, check bulb. Replace if necessary and retest. If bulb is okay, replace circuit plate and retest.
  2. Check for continuity in circuit between instrument cluster harness connector "C", terminal No. 2 and cruise control ECM. If continuity is not present, repair open circuit. If continuity is present, check cruise control ECU. See appropriate CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEMS article. Repair as necessary.
