Tachometer Circuit

NOTE: Begin testing with step 2) if Lexus Hand-Held Tester (scan tool) is not available.
  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector No. 3 (DLC3). Turn ignition on. Turn scan tool on and select ACTIVE TEST mode. If tachometer tests properly, go to IGNITER SIGNAL CIRCUIT . If tachometer does not test properly, go to next step.
  2. Check tachometer. See TACHOMETER  under COMPONENT TESTS. Repair as necessary. If tachometer is okay, go to next step.
  3. Check instrument cluster circuit plate. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under COMPONENT TESTS. Repair as necessary. If instrument cluster circuit plate is okay, check and repair instrument cluster circuit. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CIRCUIT .
