Fuel Gauge Circuit

NOTE: Begin testing with step  2 if Lexus Hand-Held Tester (scan tool) is not available.
  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector No. 3 (DLC3). Turn ignition on. Turn scan tool on and select ACTIVE TEST mode. If fuel gauge tests properly, go to FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT  under COMPONENT TESTS. If fuel gauge does not test properly, go to next step.
  2. Check fuel gauge. See FUEL GAUGE  under COMPONENT TESTS. Repair as necessary. If fuel gauge is okay, go to next step.
  3. Check fuel gauge sending units. See FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT  under COMPONENT TESTS. Repair as necessary. If fuel gauge sending units test okay, go to next step.
  4. Check instrument cluster circuit plate. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under COMPONENT TESTS. Repair as necessary. If instrument cluster circuit plate is okay, check and repair instrument cluster circuit. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CIRCUIT .
