Igniter Signal Circuit: GS300

  1. Connect Lexus Hand-Held Tester (scan tool) to DLC3 connector. Turn ignition on. Turn on scan tool and select DATALIST. Start engine. Compare engine speed and scan tool data. If data and engine speed match, replace instrument cluster. If data and vehicle speed do not match, go to next step.
  2. Check harness and connectors between instrument panel and ECM. Repair or replace as necessary. If harness and connectors between instrument panel and ECM are okay, check igniter circuit using DTC P1300: IGNITER CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE section.
  3. If scan tool is not available, diagnose problem using DTC P1300: IGNITER CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE section. If system tests okay, replace instrument cluster.
  4. If system does not test okay, check harness and connectors between instrument panel and ECM. Repair or replace as necessary. If harness and connectors between instrument panel and ECM are okay, check igniter circuit using DTC P1300: IGNITER CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE section.
