Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)

If speedometer operates, VSS is okay. If speedometer does not operate, disconnect electrical connector from VSS. Check resistance between VSS terminals No. 1 (Blue/Yellow wire) and No. 2 (Red/Blue wire). If resistance is not 560-680 ohms, replace VSS. If resistance is 560-680 ohms, see appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE section.
