Gauge & Circuit

Disconnect temperature gauge sending unit harness connector. Turn ignition on and observe gauge needle. Gauge needle should move to COOL position. Connect sending unit harness connector terminal to ground through a 3.4-watt test bulb, and observe bulb and gauge needle. Test bulb should illuminate and gauge needle should move to HOT position. If gauge does not function as specified, go to next step. If gauge functions as specified, replace sending unit and retest.
