Test 5: Brightness Doesn't Change With Rheostat Light Control

  1. Check rheostat light control. See RHEOSTAT LIGHT CONTROL  under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace as needed and recheck system. If rheostat light control is okay, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect rheostat light control connector and instrument panel connector "B". Turn ignition on. Check voltage between instrument panel connector "B" terminal No. 2 and No. 4 while turning rheostat. If voltage changes smoothly, replace circuit plate. If voltage is not as specified, repair wiring between rheostat and instrument panel.
