Tie-Rod (G2312534): Removal

CAUTION: The suspension arm nuts and bolts must be tightened with the suspension arms in the normal ride position. Failure to follow this instruction may result in premature failure of the bush.
NOTE:
  • This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
  • This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
  1. Before replacing the tie-rod, make sure to have followed the diagnosis and testing procedure.

    Refer to: SUSPENSION ARMS .

  2. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

    Refer to: JACKING AND LIFTING .

  3. NOTE: This step applies to the left bolt only.

    Remove the fuel tank.

    Refer to: FUEL TANK .

    Mark the position of the adjustment bolt.

    Remove and discard the tie-rod to wheel knuckle nut and bolt.

    • Remove the tie-rod to subframe nut and bolt.
    • Discard the nut.
    • Remove the tie-rod.
