Spring (G2296779): Removal
CAUTION:
- The suspension arm nuts and bolts must be tightened with the suspension arms in the normal ride position. Failure to follow this instruction may result in premature failure of the bush.
- Do not remove the rubber isolators form the spring. A new spring is installed with the correct isolators.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: JACKING AND LIFTING .
- Remove the rear shock absorber.
Refer to: SHOCK ABSORBER .
Disconnect the suspension height sensor link.
- Reposition the stabilizer bar link.
- Discard the nut.
- Remove the integral link.
- Discard the nuts and bolts.
- Reposition the tie-rod.
- Discard the nut and bolt.
Using the special tools, compress the spring to aid removal.
Special Tool(s): 204-179
Remove and discard the lower control arm to wheel knuckle nut and bolt.
- Remove the supporting stand from under the lower control arm.
Remove the rear spring.
- Remove the special tools.
Inspect the components and replace if damaged or worn.
