Lower Control Arm
The lower control arm produced from thin-walled hollow aluminum casting. Bushes pressed into the inner section of the lower control arm, which provides for the attachment to the rear subframe. The bushes are located between brackets on the subframe and secured with bolts and nuts. The lower control arm has a platform which provides attachment for the spring and a location hole for the attachment of the stabilizer bar link.
The outer section of the lower control arm has a second bush which attaches to the forward end of the wheel knuckle. A cross axis joint at the rearward end of the lower control arm attaches to the wheel knuckle rear bush by links which provides castor control.
Integral Link
The integral link connects the lower control arm to the wheel knuckle. The integral link comprises 2 steel plates which are attached to the lower control arm and to the wheel knuckle via bushes. The integral link plates are secured to the bushes with bolts and nuts. The bushes are pressed into machined bores, located on the lower control arm and the wheel knuckle. The integral link allows lateral and longitudinal stiffness to support handling. The flexibility of the bushes support the ride quality.
Tie-Rod
The tie-rod is pressed steel with 1 end having a bush pressed into a machined bore.
The inner bush locates between brackets on the rear subframe and is secured with a special eccentric bolt, washer and nut. This allows for the adjustment of the rear wheel toe. Rotation of the bolt moves the eccentric head within a recessed slot in the bracket. This allows the toe adjustment within the set limits.
