Front SUBFRAME (G2919865): Installation

The following step(s) applies to: 

All vehicles

1. NOTE: If equipped.

   Install the noise, vibration and harshness damper.

   Torque  : 35 Nm 

2. • Install the lower control arm.
   • Install and tighten the new M14 bolt.

     Renew Part: Lower control arm bolt(s) Quantity: 2 . 

     Torque 

     Stage 1: 110 Nm 

     Stage 2: 180° 

   • Install and tighten the M10 bolt.

     Torque  : 60 Nm 

   • Repeat this step for the other side.
3. • Install the powertrain lower support insulator.
   • Install but do not fully tighten the 2 new bolts.

     Renew Part: Engine mount bolt(s) Quantity: 2 . 

4. • Install the steering gear.
   • Install and tighten the 4 new bolts.

     Renew Part: Steering gear bolts Quantity: 4 . 

     Torque 

     Stage1: 30 Nm 

     Stage2: 60° 

5. Install the 6 wiring harness clips.
6. • Install the heatshield.
   • Install and tighten the 3 bolts.

     Torque  : 10 Nm 

7. • Install the stabilizer bar.
   • Install and tighten the 4 new nuts and 4 new bolts.

     Renew Part: Front stabilizer bar to subframe nuts Quantity: 4 . 

     Renew Part: Front stabilizer bar to subframe bolts Quantity: 4 . 

     Torque 

     Stage 1: 140 Nm 

     Stage 2: 120°

   • Install the subframe.

     General Equipment: Transmission jack 

   • Install and tighten the 4 new bolts.

     Renew Part: Front subframe to body bolts Quantity: 4 . 

     Torque 

     Stage 1: 110 Nm 

     Stage 2: 180° 

9. • Install the lower control arm ball joint.
   • Install and tighten the new lower control arm ball joint nut and bolt.

     Renew Part: Lower arm ball joint nut and bolt Quantity: 2 . 

     Torque 

     Stage 1: 80 Nm 

     Stage 2: 180° 

   • Repeat this step for the other side.
10. • Install the undershield support bracket.
    • Install and tighten the 2 bolts.

      Torque  : 24 Nm 

    • Repeat this step for the other side.
11. • Install and tighten the new powertrain lower support insulator to engine bolt.

      Renew Part: Engine support insulator bolt(s) Quantity: 1 . 

      Torque 

      Stage 1: 80 Nm 

      Stage 2: 240° 

    • Fully tighten the powertrain lower support insulator to subframe bolts.

      Renew Part: Engine mounting bracket to subframe bolts Quantity: 2 . 

      Torque 

      Stage 1: 80 Nm 

      Stage 2: 180° 

12. • Install the 2 exhaust bracket bolts.

      Torque  : 24 Nm 

13. • Connect the HO2S  electrical connector.
    • Install the 4 wiring harness clips.

    The following step(s) applies to: 

    Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicles

14. • Reposition the wiring harness.
    • Install and tighten the 3 bolts.

      Torque  : 9 Nm 

    The following step(s) applies to: 

    Plug in hybrid electric vehicles only

15. • Install the coolant hoses to the subframe.
    • Install and tighten the 3 bolts.

      Torque  : 10 Nm 

16. • Secure the HV  cable bracket to the subframe.
    • Reposition the subframe heatshield in the correct location.
    • Install and tighten the bolt.

      Torque  : 10 Nm 

    • Install and tighten the 2 nuts.

      Torque  : 10 Nm 

    The following step(s) applies to: 

    Vehicles with Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF)

17. Connect the diesel exhaust fluid injector electrical connector.
18. • Install the SCR  NOx sensor module bracket.
    • Install the 2 clips.
19. • Reposition the SCR  NOx sensor module.
    • Install the 4 wiring harness clips.
20. Connect the SCR  NOx sensor module electrical connector.
21. Install the SCR  NOx sensor module cover.

    The following step(s) applies to: 

    All vehicles

22. Connect the 2 power steering electrical connectors.
23. • Install the stabilizer bar link.
    • Install and tighten the new nut.

      Renew Part: Stabilizer bar link upper nut Quantity: 2 . 

      Torque  : 70 Nm 

    • Repeat this step for the other side.
24. • Reposition the tie-rod end.
    • Install and tighten the new nut.

      Renew Part: Tie-rod end nut Quantity: 2 . 

      Torque  : 133 Nm 

    • Repeat this step for the other side.
25. • Install and tighten the new lower brake caliper carrier bolt.

      Renew Part: Brake caliper carrier bolt(s) Quantity: 2 . 

      Torque 

      Stage 1: 110 Nm 

      Stage 2: 120° 

    • Repeat this step for the other side.
26. • Reposition the body undershields and front wheel arch liners.
    • Install the fasteners
    • Install the nuts and bolts.

      Torque  : 7 Nm 

27. • Install the front suspension height sensor.

      Refer to: FRONT SUSPENSION HEIGHT SENSOR .

    • Repeat this step for the other side.
28. • Install the front wheel and tire.

      Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE .

    • Repeat this step for the other side.
29. • Install the steering column bulkhead seal.
    • Install and tighten the 3 nuts.

      Torque  : 9 Nm 

30. CAUTION: Make sure the front wheels are in the straight ahead position.
    • Reposition the steering column
    • Install and tighten the new bolt.

      Renew Part: Steering column intermediate shaft lower bolt Quantity: 1 . 

      Torque  : 30 Nm 

31. Reposition the carpet and noise, vibration and harshness material.
32. Use Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved equipment to check and if necessary adjust the 4 wheel alignment. SRO must be claimed separately.
