Engine Wiring Harness - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Petrol, Vehicles With: Non-Electric Vehicles (G2320465): Removal
CAUTION:
Take extra care not to damage the wiring harness clips.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations for left hand drive vehicles, right hand drive vehicles are similar.
- Note the position of the wiring harnesses to aid installation.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: JACKING AND LIFTING .
- Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT .
- Remove the engine undershield.
Refer to: ENGINE UNDERSHIELD .
- Remove the nut.
- Disconnect the generator in-line connector.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor.
- Release the 3 wiring harness clips.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the coolant pump.
- Release the wiring harness clip.
- Remove the bolt.
- Release the 2 wiring harness bracket clips.
- Drain the cooling system.
Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM PARTIAL DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING .
- Remove the intake manifold.
Refer to: INTAKE MANIFOLD .
- Remove the thermostat.
Refer to: THERMOSTAT .
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the piston cooling jet solenoid.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the cylinder block temperature sensor.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the knock sensor.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP).
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the oil pump control solenoid.
- Release the 3 wiring harness bracket clips.

NOTE: If equipped.
- Disconnect the purge valve electrical connector.
- Disconnect the purge valve pressure sensor electrical connector.
- Release the wiring harness clip.
- Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors from the Continuous Variable Valve Lift (CVVL) solenoids.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP).
- Release the 2 wiring harness clips.
- Remove the 2 ground bolts.
- Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors from the ignition coils.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel injector wiring harness.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel rail.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the CVVL temperature sensor.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump.
- Remove the air filter housing.
Refer to: AIR FILTER HOUSING .
- Remove the air filter housing outlet pipe.
Refer to: AIR FILTER HOUSING OUTLET PIPE .
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) solenoids.
- Release the 2 wiring harness clips.
- Release the wiring harness bracket clip.
- Release the 2 coolant hoses from the clip.
- Remove the nut.
- Remove the bolt.
- Release the 2 clips.
- Remove the charge air pipe.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the turbocharger.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the Gasoline Particulate Filter (GPF) pressure sensor.
- Remove the startup battery tray.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY TRAY .
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) wiring harness.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the transmission.
- Release the 2 wiring harness clips.
- Remove the cowl panel.
Refer to: COWL PANEL .
- Release the wiring harness grommet.
- Release the wiring harness bracket clip.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
- Release the wiring harness clip.
- Loosen, but do not fully remove the bolt.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the main wiring harness.
- Release the 2 clips.
- Remove the heatshield.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the Heated Oxygen Sensors (HO2S).
- Release the 3 wiring harness clips.
- Remove the powertrain upper support insulator.
Refer to: POWERTRAIN UPPER SUPPORT INSULATOR .
Release the coolant hose clamp.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the coolant hose.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the cylinder head temperature sensor.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the oil pressure and temperature sensor.
Release the electrical connector clip.
- Remove the bolt.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the CMP.
Remove the engine wiring harness.
