Roof Blind Motor
The roof blind motor is controlled by the switch located in the front overhead console.
The roof blind motor receives power supply from the Passenger Junction Box (PJB). The roof blind motor communicates with the Body Control Module/Gateway Module (BCM/GWM) through Local Interconnect Network (LIN) bus.
The roof blind motor uses a drive gear which engages and drives 2 cables within a sleeved pipe. The displaced cable is guided into a further 2 channels in the frame, which protect the cable and prevent it from snagging. The cables are manufactured from rigid spring steel and can pull as well as push the panel along the guides.
The roof blind motor has a thermal protection feature in the control unit of the roof blind motor. This program protects the roof blind motor from overheating.
The operating parameters are as follows:
- If the temperature of the roof blind motor is above 120°C (248°F), the roof blind opening operation is restricted to a CLOSE only.
- If the temperature of the roof blind motor is above 120°C (248°F) when the roof blind is closed, movement is inhibited.
- If the anti-trap function is operational when closing, the reverse movement of the motor completes its movement regardless of motor temperature.
