Squeak/Creak/Rattle From The Upper B-Pillar Trim

A customer may complain of a squeak, creak or rattle noise from the left or right side B-pillar upper trim

The noise may be caused by movement of the B-pillar upper trim against the seatbelt bezel due to plastic to plastic contact

Follow the steps below:

1. Remove the B-pillar upper trim and identify the master locator of the B-pillar upper trim as shown in the image above. Refer to B-PILLAR UPPER TRIM PANEL (G2297937)

   NOTE: Make sure the foam insert is approximately 25 mm x 25 mm x 5 mm. It must prevent contact of the 4 locating ribs on the B-pillar upper trim and the B-pillar.
2. Refer to the image above and install a 5 mm thick foam insert in to the master locator area of the B-pillar upper trim

3. Refer to the image above and apply anti - squeak and rattle tape between the seatbelt bezel and the B-pillar upper trim

4. To improve installation of the B-pillar upper trim after installation of the foam and anti-squeak tape, re-profile the master locator as shown in the image above
5. Install the B-pillar upper trim. Refer to B-PILLAR UPPER TRIM PANEL (G2297937)
