Front Row Seat Backrest (G2299201): Removal

NOTE:

This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.

The following step(s) applies to:

All vehicles

Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: SPECIFICATIONS .
To avoid accidental deployment, wait at least 2 minutes after you disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Remove the front row seat backrest cover.
Refer to: FRONT ROW SEAT BACKREST COVER .

Refer to: FRONT ROW SEAT BACKREST COVER - VEHICLES WITH: CLIMATE CONTROLLED SEATS .

Disconnect the side airbag electrical connector.

Remove the 2 nuts.

Disconnect the front row seat backrest heater element electrical connector.

Remove the front row seat backrest heater element.

Remove the front row seat backrest vent element support.

The following step(s) applies to:

Vehicles with climate controlled seats

Release the 2 clips.

Remove the front row seat backrest vent element.

Remove the front row seat backrest.
CAUTION: Note the installed position of the component(s) prior to removal.

Remove the side airbag from the fabric bag.
