Climate Seats - If Equipped

Depending on vehicle specification, climate controlled front and second row seats are available for the power operated seats. A climate assembly is incorporated within each climate seat cushion and backrest.

Each climate seat comprises a Seat Climate Control Module (SCCM). The modules are connected to the HVAC control module on the Local Interconnect Network (LIN) bus. Power supply for the climate assemblies in the seats are supplied from the Rear Junction Box (RJB). The climate assemblies can only operate when the engine is running.

Seat heating or cooling requests from the Interactive Control Display Module (ICDM) are received by the Infotainment Master Controller (IMC) through the Automotive Pixel Link 2 (APIX2) connection. The message is then transmitted to the HVAC through the High Speed (HS) Controller Area Network (CAN) comfort systems bus. The HVAC processes the requests and transmits them to the related SCCM on a LIN bus connection.

The SCCM uses the signals from the temperature sensors in the backrest and the seat cushion climate assemblies to regulate the seat at the selected temperature. When full seat heating or cooling is selected, both the backrest and the seat cushion climate assemblies are activated. If partial seat heating or cooling is selected, only the backrest climate assembly or the seat cushion climate assembly is activated.
