NOTE:
Jaguar Land Rover approved battery support units are not required. As the Electric Vehicle (EV) battery will maintain the 12v system.
EV are capable of movement without the engagement of a starter motor, and therefore require slightly different procedures from Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles to make sure the vehicle's drive cannot be engaged by mistake.
To prevent unwanted vehicle movement, it is recommended that:
- The smart key is kept securely away from the vehicle (as per EV Safety Rules)
- The charging cable is plugged in to the vehicle at all times even if the vehicle is being charged.
- If the charge cable is to be plugged into an electrical outlet, make sure the circuit meets local legislation and recommended practices (consult a qualified electrician for further guidance).
Additionally, the following fuses should be removed to prevent accidental function activation:
