The Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) pads are attached to the Ingenium I6 3.0L Petrol engine to reduce the NVH experienced by the driver or passenger(s). The pads are made of either a PUR foam or a multi-layer mixed fiber and resin laminate composite depending on application.
The NVH package consists the following:
- An NVH pad with a foam insert for each side of the engine cylinder block.
- A pad located above the fuel rail.
- A pad located above the High Pressure (HP) fuel pump.
- There are 2 pads, which located above the Continuous Variable Valve Lift (CVVL) assemblies.
- A pad located above the oil filter plastic cap.
- A pad located at the rear section of the intake manifold.
- A pad located above the timing chain cover.
- A pad located around the oil pan.
- An engine cover located on the top of the engine.
