Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) have a power gauge which replaces the tachometer when the Instrument Cluster (IC) is in 'Full Hybrid Display' mode or when the vehicle is in driver selected 'EV' mode. This gauge is used to display the status of the PHEV system.
The PHEV power gauge features the warning indicators:
- Charge zone - The 'CHARGE' zone indicates to the driver that energy is being captured and stored in the PHEV battery.
- 0% Power - Indicates when there is no energy being consumed or regenerated.
- Power gauge - Moves to indicate the current power being delivered by the engine and the hybrid system.
- ECO - Driving in this zone helps to reduce energy consumption.
- Engine start warning indicator - Displays when the Electric Vehicle (EV) mode is active and indicates the maximum power output of the PHEV system.
- Hybrid system status indicator - displays 'READY' when the Hybrid system is available to deliver power when required but is idle at this time; the vehicle is ready to be driven. The state of charge gauge will display the word 'OFF' when the system is not active; the vehicle is not ready to be driven.
- EV mode warning indicator - Illuminates to confirm selection of the EV hybrid mode.
- 100% Power indicator - Indicates the maximum power output for the engine.
- BOOST zone indicator - Indicates when the engine and the hybrid system are combined to increase the total power output.
- Gear selector position status indicator.
- PHEV battery charge status indicator - Indicates the state of charge.
