ITEM DESCRIPTION
1 Direct Current to Direct Current (DC/DC) converter electric cooling fan
2 Cooling air inlet
3 Cooling air outlet
4 Wiring harness connector

The Direct Current to Direct Current (DC/DC) converter electric cooling fan is located in the DC/DC converter housing. The DC/DC converter electric cooling fan is attached to the upper MHEV battery housing 2 studs with 2 nuts.

The DC/DC converter electric cooling fan is hardwired to the DC/DC converter. The DC/DC converter electric cooling fan has a 4-pin wiring harness connector on a fly lead. The 4-pin connector has the following electrical connections:

NOTE: Not all the connection pins in the wiring harness connector are used.

The duty cycle of the PWM signal from the DC/DC converter controls the speed of the DC/DC converter electric cooling fan.

Air Ducts

CAUTION: Make sure that the air duct inlet below the right front row seat is not obstructed.

ITEM DESCRIPTION
A Inlet air
B Outlet air
1 Inlet air duct to the Direct Current to Direct Current (DC/DC) converter housing
2 Inlet air duct - DC/DC converter electric cooling fan to the DC/DC converter
3 DC/DC converter housing
4 DC/DC converter electric cooling fan
5 Inlet air duct - Air inlet to the DC/DC converter electric cooling fan
6 Outlet air from the DC/DC converter housing

The air inlet for the cooling air for the Direct Current to Direct Current (DC/DC) converter is below the front row seat - right.

The inlet air duct directs the air from the passenger compartment to the DC/DC converter electric cooling fan.

The outlet air duct directs the air from the DC/DC converter electric cooling fan to the DC/DC converter. The air from the electric cooling fan cools the DC/DC converter when required. The outlet air after cooling the DC/DC converter exits the DC/DC converter housing below the right front row seat into the passenger compartment.
