Brake Booster - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Petrol - PHEV (G2163174): Operation: Braking

The vehicle brake system is a H-split and utilises a 'by-wire' Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) modulator to control the rear axle brake pressure.

The BRAKE BOOSTER Module (BBM) controls the level of assistance force provided to the driver to achieve the desired vehicle deceleration via the brake pedal application. The actuation of the brake pedal is detected by the brake pedal position sensor. The subsequent increase in brake pressure measured at the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) control module. The brake pedal position sensor sends a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) signal to the BBM. The BBM uses these signals to control the operation of the electric motor, which drives the rack via the gear unit for electric assistance. The rack reacts with the brake master cylinder via the output rod and generates the hydraulic pressure.
