SYMPTOM POSSIBLE CAUSES ACTION
Roof opening panel or roof opening panel blind one touch operation inoperative
  • Roof opening panel or roof opening blind have lost calibration
NOTE: DO NOT  replace the roof opening panel motor or roof opening panel frame assembly for this symptom
  • Recalibrate the roof opening panel/blind by following the "Roof Opening Panel Initialization" procedure in general procedures in the appropriate service information
Roof opening panel inoperative
  • Fuse(s) blown
  • Circuit fault
  • Switch fault
  • Motor fault
  • Check the fuse(s). Check the roof opening panel circuits. Check the switch and motor function. Refer to the electrical guides
Roof opening panel sticking
  • Debris in the channels/guides
  • Cable(s) sticking/damaged
  • Roof opening panel not correctly aligned
  • Switch fault
  • Motor fault
  • Check for general debris. Inspect, clean and lubricate the cable(s) and guides. Check the roof opening panel alignment. Refer to the relevant service information. Check the switch and motor function. Refer to the electrical guides
Roof opening panel juddering
  • Debris in the channels/guides
  • Cable(s) sticking/damaged
  • Roof opening panel not correctly aligned
  • Motor fault
  • Check for general debris. Inspect, clean and lubricate the cable(s) and guides. Check the roof opening panel alignment. Refer to the relevant service information. Check the motor function
Water ingress from roof opening panel
  • Debris in the channels/guides
  • Drain tube(s) blocked
  • Damage to the roof opening panel glass seal
  • Roof opening panel not correctly aligned
  • Check for general debris and blocked drain tube(s). Inspect, clean and lubricate the cable(s) and guides. Check the roof opening panel glass seal. Check the roof opening panel alignment. Refer to the relevant service information
Wind noise
  • Damage to the roof opening panel glass seal
  • Cable(s) sticking/damaged
  • Roof opening panel not correctly aligned
  • Check the roof opening panel glass seal. Inspect, clean and lubricate the cable(s) and guides. Check the roof opening panel alignment. Refer to the relevant service information
Roof opening panel jammed
  • Cables slipping on motor gear wheel
  • Broken component within the roof opening panel mechanism
NOTE: Do NOT remove the sunroof frame from the vehicle during this repair
  • Remove and replace the roof opening panel guide rails. Refer to: ROOF OPENING PANEL GUIDE RAILS  Order Service Part No. LR126276 - Guide - Sliding Roof
Roof opening panel very slow operation
  • Roof opening panel mechanism fault
NOTE: Do NOT remove the sunroof frame from the vehicle during this repair
  • Check for contamination of the rear guide rails and if dirt/grit is present remove and replace the roof opening panel tilt levers. Order Service Part No. LR113700 and refer to TSB LTB01141v2 - Creaking Noise From The Roof Opening Panel for further guidance
  • Retest roof opening panel operation. If movement is still slow, remove and replace the roof opening panel guide rails. Refer to: ROOF OPENING PANEL GUIDE RAILS  Order Service Part No. LR126276 - Guide - Sliding Roof
Creaking noise from the rear of the roof opening panel
  • Grit trapped in rear tilt levers
NOTE: Do NOT remove the sunroof frame from the vehicle during this repair
  • Remove and replace the roof opening panel tilt levers. Order Service Part No. LR113700 and refer to TSB LTB01141v2 - Creaking Noise From The Roof Opening Panel for further guidance
Glass rear corner positions out of time/synch
  • Cables slipping on motor gear wheel
NOTE: Do NOT remove the sunroof frame from the vehicle during this repair
  • Remove and replace the roof opening panel guide rails. Refer to: ROOF OPENING PANEL GUIDE RAILS  Order Service Part No. LR126276 - Guide - Sliding Roof
Squeaking/grinding noise from the roof opening panel main mechanism
  • Grit trapped in main mechanism guides
NOTE: Do NOT remove the sunroof frame from the vehicle during this repair
  • Clean the roof guides with a clean cloth and re-lubricate with Nyogel 774L grease from the retailer squeak and rattle kit
  • If the noise persists after cleaning and re-lubricating the roof guides, remove and replace the roof opening panel guide rails. Refer to: ROOF OPENING PANEL GUIDE RAILS  Order Service Part No. LR126276 - Guide - Sliding Roof
Motor noise present but no mechanism movement
  • Cracked motor gear wheel
  • Remove and replace the roof opening panel motor. Check for debris within the motor installation area prior to installing a new motor. Refer to: ROOF OPENING PANEL MOTOR 
Damage to roof blind cross brace
  • Auto roof blind has opened the roof blind when the engine was switched on, while the customer has a large item stored in the rear of the vehicle. This has resulted in damage to the roof blind
NOTE: DO NOT  replace the roof blind assembly if it is not damaged
Roof blind front beam guides detached
  • Auto roof blind has opened the roof blind when the engine was switched on, while the customer has a large item stored in the rear of the vehicle. This has resulted in damage to the roof blind
NOTE: DO NOT  replace the roof blind assembly if it is not damaged
  • Check the roof blind motor cables and outer molding of the cables for damage. If the outer molding are damaged Install new roof blind motor cables. Refer to: ROOF BLIND MOTOR CABLES
