Rear View Camera Water Ingress Sealing (G2856800): Repair

NOTE:

This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.

Cut a 30 mm x 20 mm section of suitable 1 mm thick butyl tape from the tape supplied in the sealing kit.

- Fold the butyl tape in half along the length as shown in the illustration (1).
- Fold the butyl tape in half along the width as shown in the illustration (2).
- The butyl tape will now be 15 mm x 10 mm x 4 mm, as shown in the illustration (3).

- Install the butyl tape as shown in the illustration.
- Using a suitable trim tool, firmly press down the butyl tape to remove any air pockets.
NOTE: The butyl tape must overlap itself.

- Cut a strip of butyl tape with the dimensions 70 mm x 8 mm x 1 mm from the tape supplied in the sealing kit
- Install the butyl tape on to the new rear view camera as shown in illustration.
- Install the new rear view camera and a new camera clamp.
- Using a suitable tool make sure all 4 clips on the clamp are engaged.
