Rear SUBFRAME - [+] PHEV (G2919873): Installation

CAUTION: The suspension arm nuts and bolts must be tightened with the suspension arms in the normal ride position. Failure to follow this instruction may result in premature failure of the bush.
NOTE: Steps 1 to 9 are only required if the components were previously removed.
    • Install the NVH  damper.
    • Install and tighten the nut.

      Torque  : 48 Nm 

  1. NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.
    • Install the rear tie-rod.
    • Install the new bolt.

      Renew Part: Tie-rod bolt(s) Quantity: 2 . 

    • Install and tighten the new nut.

      Renew Part: Tie-rod nut Quantity: 2 . 

      Torque 

      Stage 1: 70 Nm 

      Stage 2: 60° 

  2. NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.
    • Install the lower control arm.
    • Install the 2 new bolts.

      Renew Part: Rear lower arm to subframe bolt Quantity: 4 . 

    • Install and tighten the 2 new nuts.

      Renew Part: Rear lower arm to subframe nut Quantity: 4 . 

      Torque 

      Stage 1: 70 Nm 

      Stage 2: 240° 

  3. NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.
    • Install the rear upper control arm.
    • Install the new bolt.

      Renew Part: Rear suspension upper arm to subframe bolt Quantity: 2 . 

    • Install and tighten the new nut.

      Renew Part: Rear suspension upper arm to subframe nut Quantity: 2 . 

      Torque 

      Stage 1: 40 Nm 

      Stage 2: 180° 

    • Install the rear height sensor.
    • Install and tighten the 2 bolts.

      Torque  : 9 Nm 

    • Install and tighten the bolt.
    • Install the wiring harness grommet.

      Torque  : 9 Nm 

    • Install the rear stabilizer bar assembly.
    • Install and tighten the 4 new bolts.

      Renew Part: Rear stabilizer bar to subframe bolts Quantity: 4 . 

      Torque  : 60 Nm 

    • Install the rear subframe wiring harness.
    • Install the 17 wiring harness clips.
    • Connect the 4 electrical connectors.
    • Install the 8 wiring harness grommets.
  4. Install the 2 springs.
  5. CAUTION: Do not fully tighten the subframe to body bolts until the 4 wheel alignment has been checked.
    • Use a suitable transmission jack to support the rear subframe.

      General Equipment: Transmission jack 

    • Install the rear subframe.
    • Make sure the springs are correctly located on the lower control arms and in the body.
    • Install and tighten the 4 new subframe to body bolts.

      Renew Part: Rear subframe to body bolts Quantity: 4 . 

      Torque 

      Stage 1: 110 Nm 

      Stage 2: 120° 

  6. Install and tighten the 4 new subframe bracket bolts.

    Renew Part: Subframe bracket bolt(s) Quantity: 4 . 

    Torque  : 80 Nm 

  7. Install and tighten the 4 new subframe bracket nuts.

    Renew Part: Subframe bracket nut(s) Quantity: 4 . 

    Torque  : 80 Nm 

  8. NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.
    • Install the heatshield.
    • Install and tighten the bolt.

      Torque  : 9 Nm 

  9. Install and tighten the fuel filler pipe bracket bolt.

    Torque  : 10 Nm 

  10. Install the subframe wiring harness to the 3 fasteners.
    • Connect the 3 electrical connectors to the body harness.
    • Install the 2 wiring harness clips.
  11. NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.
    • Install the brake pipe.
    • Install and tighten the bolt.

      Torque  : 10 Nm 

    • Install the air deflector to the clip.
    • Install and tighten the 2 bolts.
    • Install the right undershield.
    • Install the 9 fasteners.
    • Install and tighten the 10 bolts.

      Torque  : 10 Nm 

  12. Install the eRAD  .

    Refer to: ELECTRIC REAR AXLE DRIVE .

  13. WARNING: JLR EVAP  trained technicians only.

    Power up the HV  system. Only technicians qualified to EVAP  level or higher are allowed to perform this procedure. It is mandated that all technicians involved with the steps in this procedure have read and understood the Electric Vehicle Safety Rules.

  14. Use JLR  approved equipment to check and if necessary adjust the 4 wheel alignment. SRO must be claimed separately.
