Shock Absorber And Spring Assembly (G2296772): Installation

Make sure the correct specification of vehicle suspension components are installed.

Check the operation of the shock absorber top mount bearing.

Install the spring aid.

Install the upper shock absorber isolator.

Install the shock absorber boot.

Install the lower shock absorber isolator.
CAUTION:
- Take care not to damage the protective coating of the spring.
- The gap shown must not exceed 10 mm.

- Using a suitable tool, compress the spring.
  General Equipment: Suspension Spring Compressor
- Assemble the shock absorber and spring components in the correct order.
- Renew and tighten the top shock absorber nut.
  Renew Part: Shock absorber nut Quantity: 1 .
  
  Torque : 67 Nm
- Check the alignment of the spring.
- Remove the spring compression tool.
Secure the shock absorber boot.

Check the alignment of the spring.
Install the wiring harness.

Check the alignment of the bearing.
- Install the shock absorber and spring assembly to the vehicle.
- Install and tighten the 3 bolts.
  Torque : 32 Nm
Connect and secure the shock absorber wiring harness.
- Secure the stabilizer bar link.
- Renew and tighten the nut.
  Renew Part: Stabilizer bar link upper nut Quantity: 1 .
  
  Torque : 70 Nm
- Secure the brake hose mounting bracket.
- Install and tighten the bolt.
  Torque : 28 Nm
Install the wheel knuckle.
Refer to: WHEEL KNUCKLE .
Install the engine compartment cross brace.
Refer to: ENGINE COMPARTMENT CROSS BRACE .
