The stabilizer bar is designed to control the amount of vehicle roll during wheel articulation. The stabilizer bar is attached to the rear of the front subframe with bushes and mounting brackets. The pressed steel mounting brackets locate over the bushes and attach to the front subframe with nuts and bolts. On vehicles with a petrol engine, the right stabilizer bar mounting bracket has an extension, which acts as a heatshield. This protects the stabilizer bar and the bush from the heat emitted by the exhaust system components. The stabilizer bar is also covered with a heat protection wrap adjacent to the bracket, which provides additional heat protection.

The stabilizer bar bushes are bonded to the stabilizer bar to prevent relative motion between the 2 components.

Each end of the stabilizer bar curves forwards to attach to a ball joint on the stabilizer bar link. Each stabilizer bar link is secured to a bracket on the shock absorber body with a locknut. The stabilizer bar links allow the stabilizer bar to move with the wheel travel providing maximum effectiveness.
